8. Caliban’s attempted rape was more then a sign of disloyalty, it was a sign of disrespect. He tried to take advantage of Miranda’s innocence and like any father Prospero could have killed him right there and then. Instead he showed him detachment. He used to love Caliban like his own but Caliban betrayed him so he became very hostile to him.
